Preparing for Your Fertility Appointment: The Importance of Cycle Tracking
If you are wanting to do some fertility care with Dr Mudry please email us to get on our wait list – drkmudry.desk@gmail.com We appreciate your patience and want to ensure that you feel supported and informed while you wait for your upcoming appointment. One of the most meaningful steps you can take during this time is to begin—or continue—comprehensive menstrual cycle tracking.
Cycle tracking forms the foundation of our fertility assessment and treatment approach. By understanding the specific patterns of your cycle, we gain essential insights into hormone function, ovulation timing, and overall reproductive health. This information allows us to use your appointment time more effectively and begin personalized planning without delay.
For Individuals Who Are Already Tracking Their Cycles
If you currently track your cycles, please continue your established method. Your existing data will be highly valuable during your consultation.
You may also consider the following while you remain on the waitlist:
-
Continue tracking for an additional one to two cycles
-
Add cervical mucus observations if these are not already included
-
Export or organize your charts for easier review
-
Make note of any recurring patterns, concerns, or questions
Your previous experience with charting will allow us to proceed quickly into deeper evaluation.
For Those New to Cycle Tracking
If you are unfamiliar with cycle tracking, now is an ideal time to begin. The process is simple, accessible, and one of the most effective tools for understanding your reproductive rhythms.
Begin With Cervical Mucus Tracking
Cervical mucus observation is the most informative and essential component of cycle tracking. It provides immediate insight into hormonal changes and helps identify the fertile window with accuracy.
We ask new trackers to observe and record their cervical mucus daily for at least two to three complete cycles.
A clear introductory guide is available here:

Optional: Add a Secondary Fertility Sign
Once you feel comfortable with cervical mucus tracking, you may choose to layer in one additional method, such as:
-
Basal body temperature (BBT) monitoring
-
Luteinizing hormone (LH) test strips
These tools are not required but can contribute additional clarity.
Recommended Charting App
We recommend using Kindara(no affiliation), a reliable and user-friendly platform that allows for detailed tracking of cervical mucus, temperature, and LH strips:

The app provides a clear charting layout and easy export options, making it ideal for clinical review. Here is an example chart from Kindara. a display like this is the easiest and quickest for Dr Mudry to asses in clinic. Please see if your current app has a similar function, or consider switching to kindara before you appt.

What to Bring to Your Appointment
To ensure the most productive and informative initial visit, please bring:
-
Two to three months of charted cycles
-
Daily cervical mucus observations (required for accurate hormone interpretation)
-
Any secondary signs you have recorded (BBT or LH strips)
-
Notes about any symptoms, patterns, or questions you wish to discuss
- Labs of any kind you have done with an MD. Often a fertility work up looks at every part of your health, not just your hormones.
This information enables a more thorough evaluation and allows us to proceed efficiently with next steps, including any hormonal assessments.
Making the Most of Your Waitlist Time
Whether you are experienced in cycle tracking or just beginning, the information you gather now will directly support your fertility care. These observations offer a detailed view of your reproductive system that laboratory tests alone cannot provide.
When your appointment becomes available, we will review your charts together, interpret your findings, and create a personalized plan tailored to your needs and goals.
If you have any questions during this period, please feel free to contact our clinic. We are committed to supporting you throughout every stage of this process.
